    Question Yarn conversion

    Hello everyone,

Does anyone know how to solve this delima? I have a sweater pattern that calls for a weight 4 yarn and I want to use a weight 5 so how do I adjust for the difference in the yarn? Bigger needle? Fewer stitches? How do you make the stitch adjustment when using a different yarn then called for in the pattern? All help is truly appreciated!! :-)

I do this all the time.. I make sure I have the same amount of wool for how many yards the pattern asks for and usualy go up or down a hook size....can also try making a gauge swatch until u get it right....

that's pretty much it....it also depends on if you are a tight or loose stitcher....a gauze always seems to help; let us see your results if you can....happy crocheting.
