Hi I have not crocheted in over 35 yrs! I am now retired and I. Need to be doing things with my hands! I have also taken up beading! I would like to make beanie hats for chemo patients!

I am from St. Catharines, on. Canada! Just started my first beanie hat and already I am stumped by the short form of sp The whole row says [sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, skip next SC.] Rep sequence in brackets all the way around, for a total of 32 times. Sl St to join the end of the round to the beg. The part I don't understand is the beginning ....single crochet in next chain then -1 sp ??? Then chain 1, skip. Next single crochet.....repeat So what is -1 sp?? Thanks so much for your help..

Hi Dorothy, welcome to the forums! sp..means space ..you sc in chain 1 space...then chain one...skip next sc..then repeat

Landon, I am making another shawl and when you get ready this is an easy pattern. It is called angel wings and I got the pattern from here. I think!! lol I have so many patterns they are all running together.
