    Question Help with pattern

I am going away on Wed (somewhere warm ) and want to take some crocheting with me. I downloaded this pattern:
Ravelry: Aphrodite Shawl pattern by Karen Drouin

Guage says 24 sts and 3 1/2 rows = 4" that doesn't make sense to me as it's a 6mm hook so no way to get 3 1/2 rows to equal 4" high. What am I missing?

I bought 5 balls Sirdar Snuggly Tiny Tots colour 0915 (they only had 5 balls) Each ball is 50g/ 150yds. I worked it out as 753 yds needed. Am I right?
    thanks!

Guage is worked in the stitch used in the pattern , and the pattern calls for treble clusters, and trebles are tall stitches so i can see it being okay for 4 rows to be 3 1/2 inches.
on the yardage question, i don't know.

it is a J hook that should work, not sure about how much you might need.
