    learning the ropes

Hi I am new to the site and interested in different crochet doily patterns. Working on a 1942 doily pattern and row 12 says 9sc overeach loop. What does this mean?

Howdie and welcome....from what I get you should have crocheted "loops" and you are to now sc 9 in each one. (Your 'loops' are a number of chain stitch...for example, a pattern might read....(ch 6, sc in next sp) around...to form last loop:24 loops...
