    What's you COLD WEATHER food?

    Hey, fellow Crocheters!!

What do yawl fix in cold weather? I have a little single person size crock pot that I just love! I use it a ton. I haven't tried to make any desserts in it, mostly grains, ya know, beans and such. Hot soups, I make a potato soup in my crockpot, it is delicious! Casseroles, those are good too!

Cornbread in the oven, love cornbread too. Home made biscuits, those are good too!

What do yawl fix in these cold winter months?

    XOXOX
    Landon

I used to love chili but after we found WW's taco soup I haven't made chili. Love soup and Kaye makes a great broccoli one and I make a killer spinach soup for those who do not like spinach this will win you over. I like cornbread with soup mostly what we call hoe cakes. Thinking, I love cornbread any way I can have it. We also call them johnny cakes for some reason those are the small fried cakes of cornbread. Hoe cakes came from the slaves who had corn meal because the owners thought it was the waste. They used to have to fix their lunch in the field so they used what they had. They would heat up a hoe and fry the cakes on it. Don't know how johnny cakes but I remember in the War they called some of the soldiers johnny rebels or I have mixed up history. lol History lesson over!!

Soup and cornbread anytime. I've never made chili. Sounds like I need to add it to my list Faye.
