    Hi,

    i have completed a pineapple ruffle and would like to know what is the best starch to use and where i can purchase it.

    yolie101, I found... in my books and crochet magazines, a Doily Pattern Book. I don't know if there is a suggested starch for doilies in there or not but I will look for you and post it if I find one. I have about 4 shelves of patten books and about 4 totes full that I have collected thru the years but that one is on my coffee table right now because I was looking for patterns yesterday and left it and a few others out. I don't remember the year of the book but probably out of print now.

    We did a whole discussion on this a month or so ago. You might go back in the posts to find it. I believe it was under Stiifener. I use Niagra from the grocery. I bought one of those expensive bottles of a spary bottle and it does not work. Save your money.

    yolie101, I was wrong about a doily book. What I saw was in the back of a pattern book. I found it but there is no mention of a starch product. Sorry. Maybe if you go to Hobby Lobby or Wal-mart someone there could tell you what to use.

    twinfaye and redhead for your imput i will look for Niagra but i used flour and it not as stiff as i wanted. I think that i had too much water. Thanks guys.

    I read epsom salt is suppose to work good.
