Any ideas?
Does anyone know how to made crocheted slippers into non-slip slippers? I have thought about brushing rubber cement on the bottom. This makes it non-slip but I don't know how well it stands up to the wash. We want to crochet these slippers for elderly people in a local nursing home so safety is first.
I would love to hear your ideas! Thank you!Blessings! Roxy

There is a special adhesive for this sort of thing, know I read about it elsewhere, perhaps googling would help somewhat, know Aileens probably has something, as well as some of the other crafty specialty providers. Good luck in your search, don't know about rubber cement, might not hold up thru the washings? Try the craft section somewhere, Joanns, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, they would have, or know of am sure.
Warmest regards, from Central Wisconsin!,

I don't know what stores you have, i've seen at michaels and at beverlys non skid adhesive or i call paw prints for slippers to keep from slipping. Kinda looks like the stuff on hospital socks. Our wal-mart here downsized tremendously, i do believe i've seen it at a wal-mart where i used to live. They have velcro stuff iron on and adhesive probably more same as the other stores. Good Luck!

Glue on the thin rubber mat that we put in drawers to silence the clanking. Use your glue gun to apply glue in strips on the bottom.

Go to Jo Ann Fabrics and look for utility material. If you ask for non slip material they will tell you where to find it. I made slippers for my family this year and took the material and cut out a piece for the heel and one for the ball of foot. Sewed them on by hand. It works very well.
