Has Anyone worked with roving yarn before?

I have a really neat pattern for a winter muff, but it requires roving yarn and a roving stitch (which is explained in the pattern) but is really confusing! I don't understand about "teasing" the roving yarn. Can anyone help??

I went to Youtube and roving is material that has been cleaned and carded but then needs to be spun into yarn. There are several videoes and I think that will help the most. Good luck and welcome!!

Not sure also, but was curious. when I went searching, from what I could gather, they didn't say how they did it, but "teasing" is a way of separating the fibers of the yarn.
