I am struggling with my Soldier's Cap
Hey, yawl,
Is there some trick to working with black yarn? I know that one of my problems with this is my own fault, I try to get in a hurry and I make mistakes. So, I know I need to slow down. I am having to mark every few stitches cos for one thing, they are tough to see and I keep losing my place on the instructions. Did that make sense?
I am also lousy at counting stitches, LOL Do yawl feel sorry for me yet, LOL Well DON'T!!
I can do this, I just needed to VENT!!!
XOXOX

Try putting something light on your lap whilst working, like a towel or something, it will show through your stitches and make them more visible..
i found this while cross stitching on dark aidaJust one more shell, then i'll cook

I also sugest a lot of light when working w/ black....do you happen to have those crochet hooks that light up? if not just a spot light works too...I dunno what it is but my dancing couple is giving me fits....the froggy baby is become my best friend w/ this project.

I use my cross stitch thread for allsorts, even crochet, it makes lovely flowers and butterflies.
aida is the material used for cross stitch it comes in dark colours too
i have used many different colours, but the darker the colour the harder it is to see the holes..Just one more shell, then i'll cook

Landon. I have a poll lamp that shines right over onto my lap while I crochet or read. Otherwise I have problems seeing too.

Its a tall floor lamp with 3 or 4 lights on it that are movable, it may be as tall as 4 to 5 feet .. you can point them right where you want the light and they each have a seperate off / on switch. turn one on or turn them all on.
Have a Great Day !!! Kathy
