    Smile Scotchguard

Just wondering if anybody has scotch guarded their creations?
I have a new great grandchild coming and was thinking it might be a good idea to scotch guard some bibs I was thinking of making. I never thought of it before when my granddaughter was born (or maybe it was'nt invented).

I have not used scotchguard for my crochet creations before. I am curious to see if anyone else has used this method. And, Barby Sue, we would love to hear of your recipe! :0)

My grandmother put this together and my sister and I swear by it. 1 cup Era laundry soap, 1 cup amonia, 1 cup water mix it all together in a spray bottle and spray it directly on the stain and rub it in with a tooth brush or rub it in with your fingers. Let is set for up to an hour if it is a deep stain. Make sure you have sprayed it on pretty thick. and throw it in the laundry as normal. Even if you have one of the washers that uses special detergent like mine you can still use this combination. I have not had a stain yet that it would not get it out. I've even got paint stains out. I had to let it soak and use a toothbrush before I washed it but I got the paint out without damaging the garment. Grannie really did some thinking to come up with this one! Thank you Grannie!

You know if you are using acrylic you can wash and dry it. I have even bleached (gently) it when it needed.

You are all welcome. My Grannie came up with this a very long time ago and she had passed it down to my sister and I. We just love it. Our Grannie passed away back in 1998.
