    deer/rifle bookmark

I am looking for a pattern for a deer (head only or complete deer) and possibly a rifle for the ends of a bookmark for my son-in-law for Christmas. He is very hard to buy for, but he likes to read and he hunts so I thought this would be a possibility, I prefer crochet but it could be knit, plastic canvas or even some other craft. I thought I could find a small toy gun that would be for a doll but so far have had no luck, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Tall Girl gave you a good place to start!! Maybe you could find a small toy gun in those cowboy and Indian sets they sell?? Or the Army men sets?

thank you Maryjane, that is a great idea, my only other option seemed to be to try to
shape a rifle with fine craft wire and then crochet over the frame with thread

That probably would work too! Hope we'll see a picture when you're done!
