I'm looking for a pattern to crochet candles that fit over any empty paper roll like a toiletpaper roll or a paper towel roll. can anyone help? ty

I have some crochet magazines from the late 70's and and 80's, and even have Christmas issues. Let me look and see if I can find a pattern for you, because I know I've seen them made.

HOLIDAY CANDLE

MATERIALS: W«~~~~-!(-!C-tC~~~~~~IM~_
Worsted weight yarn; red, white,
green and yellow
Size E and F crochet hooks
Empty "Pringles" can
GAUGE: 7 de = 2", 2 rnds (de) =

RND 1: With white yarn and F
hook ch 6, join to form a circle,
ch 3, 15 de into circle, join to top
of ch-3.
RND 2:Ch3,deinsame st,2de
in each st around, join to top of
ch-3, fasten off.
RND 3: Join red 'yarn in back
loop -this rnd only -ch 3, de in
each st around, join to top of ch-3.
RND 4: Ch 3, de in each st around,
join to top of ch-3.
RNDS 5-18: Repeat Rnd 4.
RND 19: In back loop ch 3, de in
each st around, join to top of ch-3.
RND 20: Ch 3, de in each st around,
fasten off.
RND 21: Join green yarn in front
loop of Rnd 18, 3 sc in each st
around, join to first sc.
RND 22: * Ch 10, sc in back loop

This pattern is a cover to fit a whole roll of toilet paper. What Toshi wants is a pattern that is crocheted around the empty cardboard tube that makes it look like a candle. It usually has a ruffle on the bottom. It used to be very popular years ago,
