    Steel hooks and crochet thread

    Ok, I've finished converting the pattern to readable size (huge) chart, and I pulled out my brand new, still in wrapper, Aunt Lydia's Classic 10 crochet thread..when I did something CrAzY... I looked for the hook size...now why would I do that, Mrs. Procatinator....and this is what I found....

    __7__
    1.5
    MM

    Hmm, I said to myself... size steel hook 7 is: 1.65 mm; and I double checked!
    Size steel hook 8 is 1.50 mm; I am going to take my own advice and use the larger hook, but found that interesting and before I jump into this large second project...
    I thought I would do just one post...winks at Landon...lol

    I usually use a 6 or 7 hook for thread! Most of the thread doll clothes use a 6!

    I am using the #7 and it's going really well, if I could just be better at math....lol; I already had to frogit....just the chain though....I did my math SO wrong that I started on...embarassed look...a chain of 2,600...I was like, this is crazy...but I started anyway...my first two rows are very crucial, so I check and counted and rechecking and I was like...wait wait wait...I think I have an extra 0....and I sure did! So my chain is 260...phew;

    Depending on when the hook was made, what the yarn is and what time of day it is, steel hook sizes do vary.

    So I'd simply use the one that works best for you.
