    Hi friends.

    Hi friends,
New to crochet. Am retired and fullfilling my bucket list. On it was crochet. I am an avid thrift shop shopper and found a plastic bin of yarn and was on my way. My mother is 93and in a nursing home and she is always cold. So I buy all the yarn I can find at thrift shops and have made her some granny square throws. I am going to continue and make some for the other residents. My main problem is weaving ends that come out and make holes after they are washed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I found a pattern online for a potato chip scarf and I am now on my third one. Fun. My 35 yr. old daughter says she would like one but she is going to get many.

Love all the posts and hope to do some of the good work you all do in the future. On my way!!!

Pleased to Say Hello. Nursing home washing is a little harder on things then doing them at home on Delicate cycle. Really have to weave in ends extra specially good because of this.

Hi and welcome! I use a glue called "IT's OK to Wash" on items I want the ends to stay put! I make crochet things for children and use it a lot! It dries a little tacky but it goes away when you wash the item! So glad you joined us!

I think I got it in Joanns! I think any craft store would have it!
