Howdie and welcome...I think that can also be a small shell....so the shell can be as small as three stitches.

Shell stitches are sometimes referred to as a half shell because of how the design comes out. You can create all kinds of projects with the shell stitch.
Do you know what type of pattern she is wanting? Like an afghan? A hat? A scarf?
Provide more info and we will help you find something!
