Looking for afghan pattern for 6 year old girl

I have been looking for an appropriate afghan pattern for my 6 year old GD.
She just wants it crocheted in pink and purple. If any of you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. BTY I'm not a beginner, but I'm far from expert! Thanks!

I was wondering if a lapghan would be about the right size for her. Here is a link for 11 different lapghans:

Thanks LisaPate! That is beautiful, but looks a little more difficult than I could handle right now! Maybe one day I'll be ready for it!

Maryjane, on your ripple afghan how many rows did you do of one color before changing colors? I saw one pattern that suggested 2 rows. Thanks for your suggestion!

Hi Joyce! I used 6 rows of each color! But 2 rows would give it a nice striped pattern! If you do use 2 rows, weave in the ends as you go, as you are going to have a lot!!

Look online for children's afghan patterns - I have found several pretty ones for girls.

Maryjane, I am on my second row and I appreciate the advice of weaving the ends in as I go! I probably would not have thought of it and ended up with all those ends to deal with at one time! Thank you!
