    chicken hat

    I need to make a chicken hat for a teenager. I have a basic earflap pattern to use for the hat but have no clue how to make the comb or the beak...can anyone advise please?? Thanks ya'll!! Carolyn

    haha...well, I not only have 20 some hats to complete for my unborn grandson....I have some Christmas work to do and this girl collects chickens and owns chickens so I thought....she is so unique she would love a chicken hat....and she would actually wear it...she has a style of her own!! hehehe...I will be watching..Thanks twinfaye!     Well, that is a good but I suppose I meant a crocheted beak that sticks out from the hat..I am thinking maybe two ears from another style hat like a cat or something would possibly work...or something I can stuff...Thanks so much Val for your help!! you rock!!

    couldn't you crochet 2 orange triangle for the beak & stuff it...wouldn't it stick out from the hat? I've never made a hat before.

    I think you will have to experiment and see what works!! Maybe find a pattern for a stuffed chicken and see how their beaks were made!
