Hi Landon! Are you up to no good again??!!! Super Saver yarn is good because it's cheap and it wears well! I use it for the children's games and toys I make to sell! We had a thread awhile ago about how to make the yarn softer! Check it out!

Landon,
I have made a little bit of everything with this yarn & yes it is stiff and feels a bit rough to work with, but the finished project usually turns out well. I am currently working on a Bed Doll Pajama Bag for a Christmas present, it is working up beautifully. I have also made a Bed Doll Doorstop with it & it came outgorgeous.
Hope this helps a little.

Ditto, it is stiffer and scratchier but it does work up nice and the price is right. You can also make a lot of projects with the one big skein.

Landon, this is almost the only yarn I use now and I have been crocheting for well over 30 years. Some colors do seem to be softer than others. I have made afghans, baby blankets and booties, scarves, shawls, all kinds of things. If the item is a gift or before you wear it, wash it according to label instructions or by hand. When you rinse it, use double the amount of liquid fabric softner you'd normally use and if using the washer, pause the machine and allow it to soak for half an hour or by hand, just soak your item and then dry as instructed. It will come out nice and soft. This 1st wash is the only time you'll need to do this. The more you wash the item, the softer it will be.

Hi,
I see in your response to Landon that you're making a Bed Doll Pajama Bag. I haven't seen one of those in forever (since I had one as a girl) made out of anything. Mine was cloth. Can you tell me where to find the pattern? I'd love to make one for my granddaughter. She would probably think it was neat that I had one growing up. She's six and the sweetest thing born between two brothers, that is hard sometimes.

Hi London,
I love Red Heart Super Saver, I make mostly afghans, hats and scarves when I crochet. It works so nice for them. After I finish my projects I pop them in the dryer for 10-15 minutes with 2 or 3 dryer sheets and it softens them up nicely.

I use this yarn a lot, have had very good luck with it. I have a front load washer, I wash items in warm water with very little soap, rinse twice but in the 2nd rinse I use 1/2 cup vinegar, helps soften items, doesn't allow mineral buildup in washer & I don't have dryer sheet buildup in the dryer. Hope this helps.
