    Crochet Adult Ear Flap Hat

This hat is done in a half double crochet stitch. The yarn i used was red heart super saver in burgandy and white. I done the hat in a continous round. Getting ready for all of those hat orders for the winter season.

Love the hat. Did you do the ties extra long for a reason or just to look cool? I want to make one for a child but I don't know how long the ties are supposed to be.

hi landon i am glad you liked it. my co-worker likes the two colors, so she asked if i could make one for her. i do not think they are any sports team colors. thank you for the compliment, i tend to crochet tight have trouble with sizing of things that you can wear. i always had a nack for the eveness of crochet.

hi twinfaye, the woman i made this for wanted the ties kind of long. i made the ties from braiding them. the yarn i cut is approx. 50 inches long and i folded the yarn in half and did a slip knot on the ear flap. then i set something heavy on the hat so it would not move and braided them, did the tassel. my braids are about 20-21 inches after i was done with it. i would much rather have too much yarn than not enough. as for a child i do not know, but look on you-tube and the teacher is cakes by subrina--she has alot of earflap hats and how to make the ties. hope this helps!
