Hello from outside of Toronto, CANADA
I am Jan/Queenmagenta from a city outside of Toronto, CANADA.
I lived in Milwaukee for over 20 years so I know and love the US very much.
New to crocheting. I took a class at Michaels 2 weeks ago and have finished
2 scarves and 1 baby blanket. The patterns were to practice stitches.
I need help following a pattern so any suggestions on how to begin with a pattern
would be much appreciated. I feel lost and even reading them is confusing!!!
Am I the only one that has found this to be the case?
It will be great to get to know all of you.
Thanks
Jan

Jan , you are not alone!! Tell us the pattern so we can look at it and I guarantee that someone on here will be able to help! Post pictures of what you have made. We will help with stitchs and patterns. Honestly Youtube is one of the best recources for showing you how to do stitchs and techniques. Good luck and ask questions. We will help!!

Thank you so much. We have a Canadian fellow that has a great U-tube teaching site. Here is his connection.
Michael Sellick | Facebook Michael is a great help.
I don't have a pattern in front of me but I will find one and post it.
Actually I want to make an easy but good looking square to do multiples of for another baby blanket.
We don't know what the baby is and I will use a very pale yellow and medium blue baby yarn.
Anyone out there have a great idea for a pattern for each color to mix together?
I am so anxious to learn.
Thanks to you all.

Welcoming a fellow Canadian! I live about two hours from Toronto. When I begin a pattern, I always read through the instructions before I begin to crochet.

Howdie and welcome...are you able to find your place on patterns? I know it might sound silly but sometimes if you don't know your place on the pattern it's hard to understand...
