    Hello Everyone,
I have been enjoying reading the posts about crocheting so I decided to join you! I love to crochet afghans. I especially love making them with lots of colorful yarn. My family enjoys the large, tighter weave (single crochet) afghans that I make. They say the more open weave lets too much "air" in. They like to stay warm, I guess. LOL I'm looking forward to "talking" to all of you.

    Hi, Julygirl, and Welcome!

I am Landon, I am a newbie crocheter, self-taught. Yes, SC is much warmer, I agree and it goes together so fast too!
If you have any pics of your work we'd love to see them!!
I am glad you are here!

    Happy Crafting,
    Landon

welcome, I find the sc to be incredibly boring but it is the tightest stitch. Ask questions and answer any that you know. The more you participate the more you will enjoy this site.

    JulyGirl,

Hello and welcome! I know what you mean on the weave. I have some that are "heavier and warmer" than others. In the winter, it is nice to use these. In the not as cool months, I can use the ones that will give me just enough "warmer" feel with the regular blankets on the bed! LOL

Hope you enjoy your time here! We have a wonderful group of members!

Howdie and welcome...yeah I've been told that crochet is too open and it won't keep someone warm...personally I disagree....but to ea their own.
