I tried the russian joining and I just couldn't get it. I did figure out how to do the double knot join and it is working fine. I am still going to learn the russian join but it may take a while. You can go to Youtube and look at the different joinings. welcome and good luck

Are you talking about the magic circle joining? That is a different thing. That makes the circle at the beginning of the first crochets to remove the hole in the middle when you start with a circle. I may have misunderstood your request. That doesn't sound clear, someone else try to help me make this clearer.

Twinfaye, maybe I am the one that wasn't clear. The hat is Blossom Cuteness on
sarahsweethearts.bloodspot.ca/2010/12/blossomy cuteness.HTML
If you go on & look at the pattern ,you will see what I mean by circle.
I cannot join it without it looking off .
Thanks.

If I get this right you are talking about joining the round together and that is done by doing a slip stitch to make the circle. To do this you put your hook that has the chain or crochet stitches in the stitch that the pattern says and draw the loop threw the stitch. Say the pattern says join in the first double crochet, you put your hook in the first double crochet and pull the loop through the assigned stitch. You do not yarn over you just pull the loop through. Look at Youtube for a video on joining a circle. I don't know if there is one but that is what you need. I think!! Good luck.
