My apologies, I just saw the age in the title of thread. In our girl scout troop, some of the girls of around the age of 14 are getting into wearing the funny hats including animals, much like toddler fun style hats.

My granddaughter is closing in on 15 and she wanted a slouchy beanie hat. I did one in the puff stitch but I think I will do one in a free pattern that I got. I made some flowers to add to it if she wanted. Good luck!!

This summer at camp one of the older girls wanted a slouchy beanie hat. I'd say she was middle school. Red hart has some.

I have several nieces who love the hats. The most recent she got was from a cousin who has a business doing all kinds of hats. Her's was of an owl. That is her school mascot. Maybe she would like something like that. I found some free patterns when searching animal hats.

Thanks Barbara G! I will look for some patterns for them. Seems I have a couple of mags. with this type of pattern but not for size I need. The only one that would be the right size is for a Zebra hat. Looks Hard to do.....not sure I am up to it!!
