Howdy from Iowa, neighbor! YouTube has video tutorials that show you step by step how to perform lots of different stitches. I am pretty much a visual crocheter. I have been able to master several stitches I never could figure out with written instructions before! I was also reluctant to try things like mittens. There are several different ways to approach projects, sometimes one will work better, or be easier to understand than others. Charts are also a great way to learn stitches. Happy crocheting-we're a friendly bunch-ask any questions and somebody is bound to know the answer!
