Working with mesh pattern

It's a light bulb moment, fellow crocheters! My sweater is wide enough at the bottom, but since I'm doing a dc, ch, dc, the width becomes less than planned because a chain takes less space than a dc.

Instead of ripping, I'm going to add a row of dc along the sides.

Next time I'll add extra meshes.

Neat idea; I've often wonder if adding extra stitches would help...makes sense. Thanks for sharing....
