    Hello Choiyuk.
    This is so pretty thank you for sharing. I have never seen 8 ply yarn but then I make mostly baby clothes. I see in the picture that it looks like yarn but the stitches are so small I though at first it might be thread. I am not familiar with that brand of yarn.

    I was just wondering as I really like this pattern and might try it for the next baby due in February. I guess you could use any kind of yarn if you follow the gauge.

    I found this link for suggested yarn substitution the only brand I knew was Red Heart. and this link gives the number of balls you would need.

    Spoula - Confusing - some sites call the Calico yarn a sport weight and some call it a dk weight. Since it's a blanket, I'm sure you could work out the size. If you're concerned, just use an easy-care sport weight yarn and add a larger border if it comes out too small.
