    Repair Assistance

My granny asked me to repair an afghan (that i think is older than me!). i'm not sure how to go about this, as the damage is square in the middle-side of the blanket. Is there any way to salvage work like this, or should i offer her a fresh new piece?

I have done repairs. It’s a little tricky and naturally will not completely match the rest of the piece. My first concern is to prevent further damage. This usually means stopping unraveling by securing loose loops in some manner. It could be as simple as putting a thread thru the loops. Following that you must decide how you are going to mimic the original stitches. If you put some thought into it I bet you can figure it out! Good Luck!
