    extension for a crochet top

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to add length to an already crochet top.
I crochet a crop top, the pattern starts from the bottom n after 9 rows increase
for the arm for another 10 rows. once done I realized that
    it is too short.
Any way to correct my mistake.
I would like to add some more rows at the bottom .
    Is it possible?
    Tks

    Hello,

My first thought is to add a lower border to the crochet top. You are welcome to add a picture here if you like.

    Hello,

I have not done this crochet pattern, but she does mention this on her site:

Similarly, you can adjust the overall length of the shirt and the openness of the armholes by working fewer or additional rows in the top half of the shirt.

Yes, the site says "Work additional rows before the sleeves to make a longer tunic-length top." It sounds like this top is made from the bottom up, so if you've completed the top already you wouldn't be able to do this unless you unravel half the top - not acceptable, at least to me! I would go with Barbara G.'s suggestion to add a border to the hemline of the top. This would be the easiest and quickest way to add length.

I was thinking you could just start a separate piece to how much longer you want the top and then join then piece to the crocheted top.

How about crocheting a piece as if you were starting another top. When it is long enough add it to the bottom in the same way the shoulder seams are done. That would make it “match” and look like part of the design.
