Making slippers in the round

Sharing my tips and tricks here, you're getting a preview of a book I might write someday. My slippers in the round have a noticeable diagonal line going up where I've joined. Now what I do after completing the last round, is cut the yarn at that point, turn the slipper around so the joining seam is on the bottom of the foot, and attach a new piece of yarn to do the rest of the slipper.

Have you considered working in the spiral round so you don't get that seam? Rather than join each row you just continue until you have the needed length.

I think I would try doing it in the spiril method! I've made slippers in the round and the joining always seems to be at the back of the slipper!

I have one pair on display in my Etsy shop.

Better yet, here's a recipe for basic slippers: (These are written for a size I hook and 4-ply yarn such as Super Saver)
Into your magic adjustable ring, ch 1 and dc 10 (use hdc if you like). Pull tail to close ring and join to 1st dc
R2: 2 dc in each (20 dc). Join.
R3: 2 dc in 1st, 1 dc in next 2, 2 dc in next, follow around and join (26).
Work even until you have 8 rows (half the slipper length you need for a size 8 foot)
If you see a seam line from joining and it bugs you, finish off first section of slipper , then attach new yarn to asection of the slipper that puts the seam at the bottom of the foot (hope this makes sense).
Dc in 24, ch 1 and turn. Dc in ea stitch.
Carry on until you have 2 rows to go.
Next to last row: DC in 1st 10 st., then dc 2 tog twice. Then DC in last 10.
Last row. DC in 9, dc 2 together twice, dc last 9.
Optional:
Sc across row.
Put your seam in now or wait until you've put an edging along the top of the slipper.
