About fabric glue -- you might need to know this someday
When I attach a new skein of yarn, I make a knot. Please don't tell me to never knot. The point of this caveat is, NEVER use fabric glue on black. Even if it's just a little dab, it spreads and turns into a really ugly white blob. I tried using Goo Gone on it...no help. Then I tried a Shout instant stain remover sheet. After the Goo Gone and stain remover it was still noticeable, so I disxcreetly mingled some black yarn over the white areas. Now it's not noticeable, but to repair the white blob must've taken me an hour. Store this in your memory banks, my yarny friends.

I sometimes make a knot when I know I will be able to hide it!

Knotty problem! I'm glad you stuck to it and figured out a way to hide the problem. Thank you so much for the warning.
I love Russian joining; it hides the ends quite well with certain yarns. I have some tricks I use for this technique.
Russian joining can be googled. It may help.

Russian join is nice. I had a hard time weaving the one yarn through the other because of the needle being so long...so I wasn't close enough to the loop. And it's time consuming to do. I just might watch a video on it.
