10 Day Kindness Challenge
Hi, I'm doing a 10 day kindness challenge from World Vision. Today is Day 2. Day zero - the day before the 1st day was to ask someone to join with you in this challenge. I had asked someone at church so I am sending these to her but I thought you might like this as well.
Day Zero – Dare to Share
We’re gearing up to throw kindness around like confetti with 10 daily dares in your inbox. These easy dares will inspire random acts of kindness around the world with strangers, friends, and loved ones — but why not start today?
Your Day Zero challenge: Ask one person to join you on this special mission.
Let’s make the world a little brighter. Together. Starting today.
Thought of the day:
"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."
— African Proverb

Day 1 – Love is a verb.
Today’s challenge is all about combining action with love. Take 10 minutes today to write a letter to someone who could use a little love and encouragement. You can deliver this one by hand, email, or social media.
So, who will your target be? Here are a few ideas to get you started:
A person in need
A friend or co-worker
A family member
Someone who has inspired you
Your significant other
3 random ways to power up your random act of kindness:
✔ Once you’re ready to deliver your letter, say a little prayer for that person.
✔ Include your note with a sack lunch for a person that’s down-and-out.
✔ Leave a love note for a random person to find. Hide it in a book at the library or in a jar at the park!
Ready? Set. Go!
Thought of the day:
"As I have loved you, love one another." – John 13:34
Day 2 – Joy. It’s in the little things.
Today’s challenge is all about sharing a smile, maybe a laugh, and definitely some light. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to spark a little joy in someone else’s day.
Dare #1: Smile at 3 strangers today.
Dare #2: We double-dog-dare you to sincerely compliment those strangers.
Dare #3: Power up your daily dare by praying with one of them today.
Never underestimate the power of a genuine smile.
Now go – and make it so.
Thought of the day:
“Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls.” – Mother Theresa

Day 3 – Be brave. Choose peace.
This one might be tough. Your challenge today is to forgive or be forgiven.
The next 24 hours are all about making peace.
Is there something on your heart that needs letting go? Today’s the day.
Is there someone in your life whom you need to approach for forgiveness? The clock starts now.
Blessed are the peacemakers.
Thought of the day:
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.” – Col 3:15

Day 4 – Practice, Practice, Practice.
Today’s kindness dare is about intentionally practicing....
pa·tience
ˈpāSHəns/
noun 1. the capacity to accept or tolerate delay,
trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to put others first and practice patience today. Looking for ideas?
✔ Park in the farthest parking spot from where you’re going
✔ Choose the longest line at the store
✔ Let others go in front of you in traffic
Take a deep breath. You can do this.
Thought of the day:
“Patience is the companion of wisdom.” – Saint Augustine

Day 5 — The element of surprise
Get ready to be a kindness ninja and make someone’s day. Today, we double-dog dare you to create a moment of kindness, without seeing the result. So, how will you put this dare into action today?
Kindness + a little stealth.
✔ Buy coffee for the person behind you in line
✔ Write an inspiring message on a mirror with dry erase marker for your significant other
✔ Tape quarters to a vending machine or washing machine at the laundromat
✔ Did you receive customer service today? Take 5 minutes to tell a manager how great it was
What makes this dare fun is being kind without anticipating anything in return.
Listen to that little voice inside of you and seize the moment today.
Thought of the day:
In a world where you can be anything, be kind.

Day 6 — See the good. Be the good.
Today’s dare should be refreshing. Your challenge is to be the change you wish to see in the world. Sounds like a tall order, but change can start small because little things add up!
The main ingredient in today’s dare = goodness. Need some ideas?
✔ Sit with someone who is eating alone
✔ Cook a meal for someone
✔ Give a very generous tip to your server
✔ Bring food and water to someone in need
How will you share a little good today? Start now.
Thought of the day:
"Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can." — John Wesley

Day 7 - Stick with it.
Your mission today is to look at one place in your life where you may feel like giving up…and stick with it.
✔ We dare you to only use uplifting and grateful words today. You can do this.
✔ Looking to one-up that dare? Think about someone you know who wants to give up, and encourage them today to stay in the game.
✔ For the super adventurous, we triple-dare you to express your admiration to someone who does a hard job and doesn’t give up.
Now get out there and share some never-give-up stick-with-it-ness.
Thought of the day:
“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” — Hebrews 12:1

Day 8 - Be somebody.
Close your eyes and take a moment to imagine what the world would look like if we intentionally put other people first for one whole day. Are you up for the challenge?
Today we dare you to be somebody who makes everyone feel like a somebody.
Let’s make it happen. Here are a few wild ideas to get you started:
✔ Hold the door open for someone else
✔ Offer your seat to someone standing on the train or bus
✔ If you’re at the store, return a cart for a mother or elderly person
✔ Ask your classmates, coworkers, or barista how they are — then pay attention and respond. The key ingredient to this one is genuine interest.
Extra points for giving out high fives, smiles, and waves today.
You’ve got this.
Thought of the day:
“Let your gentleness be evident to all.”
— Phil 4:5

Day 9: Carpe diem
Fun fact: today is a gift. Unwrap it and here’s what you’ll find: 24 hours. 1440 minutes. That’s 86,400 seconds to be exact.
Let’s make the most out of it.
Your mission today, if you choose to accept it, is to take every opportunity to show up & be present.
Looking for ideas? Step away from electronics today. Fill your time with human connection.
Dare #1 — Step away from the television and into conversations
Dare #2 — Turn your smartphone off and pay attention to the people right in front of you
Dare #3 — Go all in. What would it look like to fast from technology for 24 hours?
Cheers to making it count!
