    Wink Hi

Hello, My name is Joann and I'm from Michigan. I really love to sew, but I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and decided I needed a new hobby that I can do while I sit through chemotherapy. So I'm going to try crocheting and maybe knitting. Any ideas on something easy to start out with?

    Joann,

Hello and welcome to the group! Sorry to hear about your cancer - I am sure that you will find learning to crochet tranquil in your situation. Some people start with working on afghans, such as a ripple afghan. Or, you could find some simple projects which use double crochet throughout the pattern...it is a pretty simple stitch to learn.

Let us know if we can help in any way! We are thinking about you! Glad you are here!

Hi we went through chemo last year. Crochet is a great way to focus on better things. I suggest any basic blanket pattern that is repeatable so you can pick it up and put it down.

Hi Joann and welcome! Sorry to hear about your cancer-I'm sending good thoughts and Prayers to you! The are tutorials on this site that you may find helpful. Maybe you could make squares for an afghan and then you could sew them together at home! Glad you joined us!
