Lion Brand Yarn’s Vanna’s Complement in “Fisherman” (100% acrylic) and New Basic 175 in “Cream” (75% acrylic, 25% wool) was used, and then the yarn was combed with a dog slicker brush to bring out the fuzz.

This dog is so cute and he doesn't need to go for a walk either. That would work for my grandkids.
