Frayed yarn
Has anyone ever bought a skein of yarn and (when they around to using it) about half-way or so through the skein of yarn it was frayed? I've found before where partway through the skein of yarn there was a knot but this time the yarn is frayed so I just continued crocheting and then 3 rows later the yarn is frayed but not as bad.

Sounds like you bought a mill-end run skein without being aware of it. Any chance of exchanging it?

I went ahead and used the skein of yarn. I didn't cut it at all I just crocheted with it.

Hi Jean Marie,
Isn't that frustrating? I've found sections of frayed yarn even in the more expensive skeins of yarn. I either cut it out (as Grandma would have had me do) or crochet through it if it doesn't seem too bad. Sometimes it's been frayed worse than I thought and I've had to tear out I've what I've done to go back and cut the frayed yarn out before continuing.
Have a blessed Christmas!
