    My Mistake

So this is one of my mistakes. In my mind's eye I saw this as looking similar to one of those giant Spiral Lollipops. But I made a poor selection for my yarn. I wanted the brilliance of "Dayglow" but did not realize how short the color run was. So instead of looking like a spiral, it looks like confetti. I did work it in a spiral, which got confusing because I found half the time I was working on 2 different rounds at the same time. This required incessant counting which can be annoying. When I finished it I could not make up my mind about the border. I think with a different choice of yarn it would be better. However since it does not look any better/different than the basic round ripple I probably will not do an encore. It is, of course, fully functional therefore I am sure it will find a home.My Mistake-img_5637-jpgMy Mistake-img_5642-jpg

    Hi DorisAnn.
It looks ok to me too.

I like the edging is that a few rows of the v stitch with picots on the end. It is really pretty.

Even if it didn't turn out the way you had wanted, it is still lovely!

Yes, it just basic. I like the look of it for many afghans. It extends the width but is light and lacy. It does not need a foundation or set up round/row so the width of the border depends on how much yarn I have. Thanks for asking

It doesn't matter that it looks "like confetti" at all. If anything, this is a most unusual and desirable, though unexpected, effect. Really. Not just saying.

I like it. My daughter says we are always to hard on ourselves when I ask if something is OK.

Thanks mnleona. My Sis says the same thing, but she quilts and sews and she is also hard on herself too. Must but a common thing.
I have gotten over my frustration so now I like it. One of the grand-nieces loves it so I don't think I will have it beyond her next visit.
