Crocheted dish towels???

I am curious as to how a crocheted dish towel would work. I have a lot of crocheted dish cloths and I love them. Wouldn't use anything else as long as they are cotton. If anyone has made or used any, please let me know. If they work well, I will make some.

I used to crochet the towel toppers.

I have heard from several on a different forum. They all seem to think a crocheted dish towel is to heavy when wet or even very damp. I may do a couple just for "display" and do only the tops on terry towels.
