    When you fasten off

When fastening off, I usually cut yarn and pull through loop. I just finished a square and to fasten off; instead of pulling yarn through last loop I cut the yarn (if needed, unless it was the end of the yarn piece) and pull the loop that's on the crochet hook all the way through and then thread the needle and put needle/yarn through the top chain (instead of slip stitching in top chain with the crochet hook) and back through the previous stitch from the back of the work I believe. I saw this on the computer sometime back. I don't know what video it was. I was wondering if other people did this. I don't know what the video was called. Does anyone know what this is called?

I had to add another row to make it 6 inches cause it was only 5 and a 1/2 inches.

I fasten off just like you do. Would love to learn a new way.

    Hi Jean Marie,
I posted this finishing technique a while back. I love this method of finishing off a project, because it is invisible. Thanks for posting it again, so those who didn't see it before can see it.

    Hi Jean Marie,

What a coincidence that you brought this up! Just a few days ago I blogged about how to do this method without a needle here: A Neater, More Secure Way to Slip Stitch – Liana in Stitches

Unfortunately I don't know what it's called. I myself just call it a neater way to slip stitch!
