Hello from Ohio
Hi! I'm Lin from northeastern Ohio. My Grandma taught me to crochet some 60 years ago and I love it. My church group makes lapghans for nursing homes, hats and scarves for homeless people and shelters. Learning new stitches and patterns stimulates this old brain of mine.

Hi Lin,
Welcome. What stitches or patterns are you making for the lapghans?

Thank you, Jean Marie. Most recently, I've been using the Dutchess Lace, Larksfoot, and Slanted Shell Stitches for afghans, lapghans and baby blankets. I like the Bean, Half Double Crochet, and Grille Stitches for scarves because those stitches are dense and warm.

I'm going to have to look those up since I'm not familiar with them - the ones for the lapghans.

Thank you, sonnetta. I'm in Cleveland now (go Cavs!) but hoping to return to Twinsburg in the next year or so. I am looking forward to learning a lot from all the talented members here.

Bless you, kl1000. My Grandparents and Mother came from Prague and Grandma did a lot of filet crochet. I could never quite develop the patience to do it well.

Thank you, Barbra G. I've been reading the forum for about two years and learned a lot as well as finding some wonderful patterns. Everyone here is so open and sharing. It's a privilege to become a member.
