Making an amigurumi sponge
Hi,
I want to make a dish sponge out of tulle/ cotton yarn in the shape of different amigurumi water creatures. I'm having trouble thinking of a good stuffing. It needs to be waterproof, obviously. it doesn't need to be absorbent because the yarn will do that. It does need to be machine washable. Relatively cheap is also a bonus.
If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it.
Thank you.

Hi Adlerjll,
When you're done working on a project and you weave in the ends and cut off the extra yarn - save that piece of yarn. You can use the pieces of yarn for stuffing. If you don't have any pieces of yarn you can cut some old yarn that you don't want.

What about using a sponge, you could cut it up in small pieces to make it stuffable?

Yesterday, after I had read this, I had washed in my washer my dish rag which is a Spic and Span Cleaning Wipe. I love these and use them all the time and then throw them in the washer but not the dryer. After a time they really get limp and it entered my head this might work for you. It would be easy for the stuffing and they are for washing/cleaning. I am sure there are other name brands but these are the ones I use.
Just a thought.
