    Started at 12 yrs old

My Mom had crochet most of her life. When I was 12, I taught myself to crochet,
then a year or so later, I taught myself to read the instructions. And I thoughly
    enjoy making things.

I know what you mean AKROSE, crocheting put's one in a whole different space..no one I knew crocheted so trying to read the one how to book I had was a real challenge..but if you love something you tend to stick to it untill you prevail.
