need help with crochet pattern-BRAIDED CABLES

hello, i have been crocheting for many years. i started because my dr. said i needed a hobby for my panic disorder. it worked great. After in crocheted my sc all across my 114 sts .Row 3.sc in first 3 sts, ch8,sc in next 12 sts, ch 8,sc in next4 sts,ch 8.............At end of this row i have 114 sc, 11 ch lps, Now here is my problem. Row 4; working in front of ch lps, ch1, sc in each st across. turn...........i don't understand how to work in front of ch lps, how do i crochet in front of ch lps
