    Yarn substitutions

    Hi, I was wondering how to substitute a yarn in a pattern . A lot of time I do not have the particular yarn called for and it is somewhat expensive , so I would like to sub with ahother yarn . Any info is much appreciated . Thanks

    I,too,use what I have. Also have successfully used two strands of worsted weight to substitute for bulky yarn which is costly.

    I also use what I have at home, some times you have to change your needle size to make the pattern right. Also you can compare the wight for the yarns. Look on the back of label and see if it is a 3 or 4 choose the best one to do the pattern.
