Question on Pattern

Two rows of edging on a square.
Pattern at the start of row 2: chain 2 and hdc in ea stitch w/3 hdc at corner.

Does that mean that I when I start row 2 I do 1 hdc in each stitch and then I put 3 hdc in corner? or

Does that mean when I start row 2 that I do 3 hdc and then 1 hdc in each stitch and 3 hdc in next corner when starting the row?

I have 8 squares done w/the edging and the way I did the edging is at the start of the row/rnd. I did 1 hdc in ea st til I got to the corner where I put 3 hdc in corner and continued that around and when I got to the last corner I put 3 hdc in the corner before I sl st in first st. Was that right?


crocheting right to left on 1st side
left side 3 hdc_____________1 hdc right side

next side - 1 hdc in each stitch and 3 hdc in next corner

3rd side - 1 hdc in each stitch and then in the last stitch - 3 hdc - Is that right? Does it matter which way I do it?

Hi,
I went on ahead crocheting the edging the way I had been.

On Row 2 of the edging I'm putting the 3 hdc in the last st on ea side for the corners.
