Ok, I'm doing a sc chevron stitch and I'm loosing stitches. What am I doing wrong. It's 5sc, skip 2

Hi, welcome. I love to make this type and have had the worst time with losing stitches. Please check you first stitch and your last stitch. That always though me off. Sometimes I'd have to read the pattern out loud. My poor house mate would laugh so hard. She would just say give me the paper and I'll read it to you. Always helped so much. What I like is when I get off on the right step it goes so well. Even if I do count in my sleep.I also like when I get going so far I fold the project and put it in a newspaper wrapping or sub way bag. Then its not sitting all over the place. Sometime I use an umbrella bag if its a large project. I hope I helped. Seeing the pattern would also help if the first and last stitch is not the problem let me know.
