Help with Edwards Menagerie Crochet Animals

I am stuck on a pattern from a book called Edwards Menagerie. The Standard increase directions on Page 16 state:
Round 3 - (Dc2, dc2 into next st) 6 times. What is the difference between Dc2 and dc2? Does the D as a capital letter indicate you are to do something different than dc2?

    Any help would be appreciated!!!!

I read it as Dc2=decrease 2 and dc2 into the next st=double crochet into the next stitch if you are doing shaping.
Otherwise if it is a straight increase and nothing else happening I read it as double crochet twice; and then 2 double crochets into the next stitch.

Dc2 = dc in each of next 2 sts
dc2 in next st = increase by making 2 dc in next st
