    Hi tlazer,
I would just leave them in the skein and then if you come across a knot in the yarn then find the other end of the yarn and untangle it. My opinion.

I usually leave my center pull skeins the way they are for crocheting. If I have skeins I have ordered or get from my LYS that are not center pull I will rewind them. For me it is easier to crochet from the center of my skeins.

I have a big custom made squirrel cage, plus a cone & a ball winder that make it easier to rewind any I need do that way. I do some weaving & spinning and have this equipment mainly for that reason.

Leave as they are. The manufacturer has wound them in the way it is meant to be used - center pull.
By re-winding you may stretch/stress the yarn fibers by winding too tightly.
Also by leaving in the skein it is easier to store than wound up balls.

    Red face Suggestions please.

Simply use a larger hook and you will have the adult version. I would suggest "L" or anything above that size. Hope this helps! Candersen
