Hello from Southern Oregon!
Lindy Follett here, in Roseburg, Oregon; after 36 years in Alaska we retired in October 2015. I'm wife to Tony, mom and stepmom, of 5, as we are a blended family (for 27 years), grandma of 11, and great-grandma of three! That is a whole bunch of family to crochet for and I love it! I'm a lefty; I learned to crochet in 1972 and my favorite stitch is Broomstick Lace. I'm delighted to be part of this group!

Welcome to Crochet Talk. I saw a broomstick shawl that I am going to make...just as soon as I get rid of 3 new WIP's.

What will you use for the "broomstick"?

I like the feel of Caron Simply Soft and Red Heart Boutique. It's a toss up between the two. I don't really want the lace to be so lightweight.

Actually, I wondered about what sort of broomstick device you use...

I'm just using a crochet hook and a 25mm knitting needle.

Hello and welcome from Pa. I have done broomstick years ago. A friend of mine took a broom and cut it and put a point on it. It worked great. I still have it
