Interesting. A while back, I crocheted my name. I just crocheted a single or half double crochet to however long I wanted it and then shaped the letter. For the 'A' in my name I crocheted another piece for the line or bar across the 'A' and sewed it together so it would stay. I put my crocheted name on a white square and embroidered or stitched my middle name on the square. I want to put this square along with the other squares I get for the square exchange. I started to put together and afghan.
