freezing asparagus
It seems when I freeze asparagus it is soggy later when I use it later. I leave it boil for the recommended time. I was wondering if any one knew If I can put it in boiling water and than as soon as it starts to boil again take it out and cool it. Will this blanch it enough. I have a pretty nice bed of it. Thank you.

Hi Susie Ann, my daughter loves asparagus but gets tired of it so she puts it in the oven now and sometimes sprinkles it with Parmesan cheese I think that would dry the asparagus out enough if you freeze it. If not you can use it in soups and stews!! That is one vegetable I'm not crazy about!! Good luck. Love Winnie

Hi Susie Ann, I am not too bad right now thank you for asking. I am getting over bronchitis again ☹️ At least I am getting over it and not starting it !!! I am doing everything I can to build up my system and my immunity bc it's just been one thing after the other all winter. I will be glad for spring to arrive for more than a day or two!! We are going to get really cold again. I am seeing a new back doctor and praying he can help with my back pain so I can be up and around more. Then I have to see a rheumatologist before I can see my lung specialist but I'm not complaining I'm thankful for good doctors!!! God knows what he is doing. How are you doing?? I hope you are well and things are good for you 😊 Love Winnie

Hi Winnie, I am up and just reading some of the new posts. My son is here for just a few hours and will be leaving again for a week. He is still resting after that loooooong bus ride. Ha Ha. Anyway my other son and family came over last night and we had a good visit and we watched a good movie too.
The movie was really good. It is called "The Walk " and is a true story about a young man that walked a tight wire between the twin towers in New York. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. Of course you know he made it because he is the one who is telling the story.
I am glad to hear that you are doing better and will keep you in my prayers.
BTW... I had a spell with my leg pain just before everyone left last night and shook everyone up a little. I haven't had it for a long time but I was sitting on the couch and started to get up when it hit me. It is the bad one that will run down the inside of my leg (sometimes clear to my ankle! ) Thank God it didn't go all the way to my knee even and didn't last very long but I was afraid to move for a while. It is a very excruciating pain and I can do nothing but scream when it is really bad. My son came over and put his hand on me and prayed for me and after a while I was able to get up and move into a better chair....the recliner is not a good chair for me to be sitting in. I was able to get into bed and the pain didn't return and I was able to sleep thru the night. I feel fine this morning.
Now YOU get well so we can have that visit. Love , PattyLast edited by redhead; 04-04-2016 at 06:02 AM.
