Hi all! I was really pleased to see the article on the Waffle stitch. I found it on Pinterest awhile back and have used it to make a scarf that I made for a Dr friend who wanted a hooded scarf, hat, pockets, about 10 different ideas it turned out wonderful and then a Dr friend of his decided he wanted one too. I'm just finishing his. I used the Waffle stitch for the scarf, and I combined the Waffle stitch with the Larksfoot, and the double crochet for both the hat and the extra big pockets that can hold both a hand and a stethoscope! I'm also including a can cozy in one of the pockets for those cold game days. Since both Dr's wanted them in team colors. The Waffle stitch is much more versatile than what you would think, first seeing it. I used it as the brim of the hat, the top and bottom of the pockets and the scarf. I hope you'll will try it.
